HOW TO AVOID CONTRACTING CORONAVIRUS
The following information was passed to me by a friend. Although I haven't independently verified the content with the Canadian Health Organization, these tips offer value in any case.

The following is the information provided about how to combat the Coronavirus:

This virus is characterized by obstructing respiratory pathways with thick mucus that solidifies and blocks the airways and lungs. In order to be able to apply a medicine, you have to open and unblock these airways so that the treatment can be used to take effect. However, all of this takes a number of days. Their recommendations for what you can do to safeguard yourself are:

1. Drink lots of hot liquids, coffee, soups, teas, warm water. In addition, take a sip of warm water every 20 minutes because this keeps your mouth moist and washes away any of the virus that's entered your mouth into your stomach, where the gastric juices will neutralize it before it can get to the lungs.

2. Gargle with an antiseptic in warm water like vinegar or salt or lemon everyday if possible.

3. The virus attaches itself to hair and clothes. Any detergent or soap kills it. But you must take a bath or a shower when you get in from the street. Avoid sitting down and go straight to the bathroom or shower. If you cannot wash your clothes daily, hang them in direct sunlight, which also neutralizes the virus.

4. Wash metallic and plastic surfaces very carefully because the virus can remain viable on these for up to nine days. Take note and be vigilant about touching handrails and door handles, etc. In your own house as well - make sure that you are keeping those clean and wiping them down regularly.

5. Don't smoke!

6. Wash your hands every 20 minutes using any soap that foams. Do this for 20 seconds and wash your hands thoroughly between fingers and the back of your hands.

7. Eat fruits and vegetables. Try to elevate your zinc levels, not just your vitamin C levels.

8. Animals do not spread the virus to people. The transmission is person to person.

9.Try to avoid getting the common flu. I guess because this just already weakens your system and try to avoid eating and drinking cold things.

10. If you feel any discomfort in your throat or a sore throat coming on, attack it immediately using the above methods. The virus enters the system this way and remains for three or four days in the throat before it passes into the lungs.

Good luck to everyone. Take care of yourselves and please pass this information along if you wish. Hope it helps!

REAL ESTATE CORNER
Average Home Price in Mississauga Jump Nearly $105K
in a Single Month
Mississauga’s real estate market continued to heat up last month, with the average home price spiking nearly $105,000. That’s right, the average Mississauga home price rose more than $100k — in just one month.

The Toronto Regional Real Estate Board released its February GTA market statistics earlier in March, revealing the average price of a home in Canada’s sixth-largest city hit $887,218 — an incredible 13.4%, or $104,803, increase from the $782,415 average just 30 days before.

Compared to this time last year, Mississauga saw an 18.9% increase in the average sale price for all dwellings, hitting an average of $846,745 last month compared to $712,625 in February 2019. Moreover, total sales were also up significantly this February, growing 31.3% from 523 in 2019 to 687 in 2020.

“As market conditions tightened over the past year, competition between buyers has clearly increased. This resulted in a further acceleration in year-over-year price growth in February.”

The real estate market in Mississauga saw impressive numbers across the board last month, with the condo market experiencing the biggest average increases.

Apartment-style condominiums were up 22.8% from $445,854 in February 2019 to $547,524 the same month this year. The average year-over-year price for townhouse-style condos also steadily increased from $581,468 to $682,680 — a difference of 17.4%.

The average cost for a detached home in Mississauga grew 16.1%, from $1,062,477 in February 2019 to $1,233,623 in February 2020, while semi-detached units increased to $840,414, up 9.2% from $769,31 at this time last year.

FEATURED FUR BABY
MEET CALLA!

Calla (short for Call-Lily) is a rescue dog from St. Lucia. Our lovely clients took their honeymoon to St. Lucia back in April and they helped bring back a total of 8 dogs to Canada for adoption! We couldn't be more proud and you know how much we love our fur babies!

Fun Fact: Stray dogs from the Caribbean are known as "pot-cakes"; the name comes from the congealed peas and rice mixtures traditionally cooked by local residents which cakes to the bottom of the pot and would be later fed to the dogs.

The organization our clients worked with to bring Calla and her fur friends home is: https://brunoproject.org/

We hope these pics bring a smile to your face and a giggle to your day. If you have any pet photos that you would like to share, please email us so we can include your fur-baby in our next newsletter.
