Hello Carole Ann,
Do you want to know the secret to eternal happiness? Don't hold your breath - it's simply lower your expectations.
Disappointing isn't it?
We kind of hoped the clue was some kind of esoteric code only deciphered by Indiana Jones encrypted on an Inca chalice.
But in reality it's as banal as accepting life as it is.
What a letdown. It's all a bit Lana Del Ray and resistance really is futile, Mr Bond.
The scales don't just fall from our eyes but crash through the ground like concrete kettle bells on a glass coffee table.
The dream partner that once had a honeyed, soft-focus glow and Burt Bacharach mood music vibe whenever you saw them now reveal themselves to be the type of person who always takes the bigger slice and leaves used dental floss on the floor.
The Disney ending didn't happen, the Insta lifestyle remains far removed and you realise with a heavy heart and expanding waistband you are not who you thought you'd grow up to be.
We have high expectations of others, of life and of ourselves and if all fails to meet the mark we feel cheated and bummed out.
What a sad and self-defeating thing to do. Almost a stealth self-harm tactic.
