Cigar Box Nation, Alternative Fretting Idea
Can You Fret a Cigar Box Guitar Without Fretwire?

Cigar Box Nation member, BrianQ submitted this photo of a cigar box guitar he built using nylon thread from Hobby Lobby as frets. This was in response to our free PDF download, How to Tie Fret Knots . The article shows you an ancient way of fretting an instrument using a special knotting technique.

I'm quite excited about this tutorial because it's just one more way we can create humble instruments from any found objects around us.

As with all our latest tutorials and plans, we invite you to improve upon them by submitting your own photos, comments and suggestions. Join the chatter!
