The Mansfield Community Center and Parks and Recreation Department is following the recommendations of our State and Local Health Departments and the CDC to keep you and your loved ones safe. Continue to check our website and watch for e-mail updates. Additional details on reopening policies, procedures, and modifications to programs, activities, and Center access will be released as needed through e-mails and website postings. Beginning Monday, June 22, the Mansfield Community Center
will resume operational hours
Monday-Friday 5:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Saturdays 6:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Sundays 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
following the States Phase 2 Sector Rules and reopening guidelines.
Access will be restricted to Members only. Reservations will be required.

Per sector rules,  those in high-risk groups (comorbidities) and over the age of 65 should continue to stay safe and stay home.
A dditional communications will be sent as future phases near.
What Will Be Open?
Limited spaces for each of the following areas will be open for reservation during this phase of reopening. Equipment access and allowable activities will be limited:

  • Fitness Center and Track
  • Main Pool
  • Therapy Pool
  • Gymnasium
  • Community Room (for Relocated Fitness Equipment)

The following Center amenities will remain CLOSED :

  • Sitting Room
  • Main Locker Rooms
  • Child Care Room
  • Teen Center
  • Group Fitness Classes
HOW TO MAKE YOUR RESERVATION:
MEMBERS CAN MAKE THEIR RESERVATIONS STARTING AT
12 NOON ON JUNE 19TH USING SIGNUPGENIUS.


RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED.
Reservations will be made in one-hour increments for each available area of the Center.
Capacities in each area are limited. Please read all details closely. Walk-ups will not be accepted. Calendars will be made available for reservation between 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. the Friday prior to the upcoming Monday to Sunday week.

SINGLE RESERVATIONS PER DAY ONLY
Please be respectful of other members and sign up only for times you WILL be attending. Each member is permitted to sign up for a singular one-hour block per day, facility wide. If you are used to utilizing multiple areas of the facility, plan to rotate your days between areas. Times are not flexible, and spaces are very limited due to current State mandates. Please do not arrive more than 10 minutes in advance of your scheduled reservation.

ACCESS CODE
The reservation system requires an access code to reserve time in the Fitness Center, Main Pool, Therapy Pool, or Gymnasium. Access to those areas is currently for Members Only. If you have cancelled or frozen your membership, please do NOT reserve a spot. The access code was sent via e-mail to members around 9:45 a.m. on Friday, June 19, 2020. If you are unable to locate the access code, please contact the reception desk or e-mail parksrec@mansfieldct.org. Your membership status will be verified and access code supplied.

GENERAL BUSINESS ACCESS - MEMBERSHIP AND ACTIVITY REGISTRATIONS
While we strongly encourage everyone to utilize registration services available online, the public may still access the Community Center Reception desk to conduct daily business. Reservations are still required. Use the "General Parks and Rec Business" tab in the Sign-Up to reserve time with a receptionist to sign up for a new membership or complete your activity registration. This tab does not require an access code and is available to non-members. Health screenings are still required. Access to other areas of the facility will not be permitted.

Reminders of general facility-wide
procedures to expect:
MASKS or cloth face coverings that completely cover the nose and mouth are required unless you are actively working out on designated cardio equipment or in the pools. This includes going to and from an activity or moving between equipment once you enter the building. Masks must be worn until entering the water (pools) or beginning your workout on designated cardiovascular equipment.

SOCIAL DISTANCING is required of facility users. When approaching the facility, and once in the facility please be conscious of the floor markings and social distancing protocols to maintain safety and compliance. Expect relocated and restricted access to various equipment in order to meet new standards. Follow signage for traffic patterns throughout the facility.
 
HEALTH AS SESSMENTS will be given to all members and staff at each visit during the check-in process. This will include a temperature screening and brief list of questions.
  • Temperature must be below 100.4oF
  • Questions include:
  • Have you been in close contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19 in past 14 days?
  • Are you experiencing a new cough, shortness of breath, or sore throat?
  • Have you had a fever of 100.4oF or higher in the last 48 hours?
Members should self-screen at home prior to each reservation. If you are unwell or are experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19, do not come to the Community Center. Center access will only be permitted upon successful completion of the Center's health screening assessment. Use of hand sanitizer is required upon entry into the facility.

WAIVER AND RELEASE
All members wishing to participate in Community Center activities must sign the waiver and release found here . This will be included in the online reservation process. If reserving by phone, the form must be signed upon entry at each visit.

RESERVATIONS will be required in order to maintain capacity and social distancing requirements in accordance with State guidelines. All reservations will be for 1-hour blocks and will be made utilizing the SignUpGenius online program. Phone reservations will also be accepted. Reservation times will be released in one-week waves every Friday between 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. for the following Monday-Sunday week.

GUESTS At this time we will not allow use of guest passes or purchase of day passes.

CLEANING AND DISINFECTING is increased and intensified throughout the facility. Employees will clean all equipment frequently and members must wipe down equipment before and after each use with provided products and materials that meet EPA and CDC guidelines for use against COVID-19. Each area will be closed for one full hour, twice daily for full area deep cleaning and disinfecting. A third deep cleaning and disinfection will occur in the evening when the facility is closed to the public.

WATER FOUNTAINS are closed. Due to regulations, water fountains are not available. Please bring your own water bottle. Water bottle refill stations may be used for refill of personal water bottles only.

PERSONAL ITEMS Locker rooms will be closed and therefore personal belongings brought into the facility must be limited to keys, swim towels, caps and goggles, and water bottles only. Please read area-specific information for more details on area-specific personal item allowances. U se of cubbies building-wide will be limited. Personal belongings for swimmers can be left in designated areas on the pool deck. Family Changing Rooms will be made available to swimmers for rinsing only before and after your swim.

GROUP FITNESS CLASSES will initially not be offered at the Center. We encourage you to continue to participate fitness classes offered via ZOOM, and check our Facebook daily for fitness tips and ideas. Follow the list of program updates here .

REMINDER Child Care, Teen Center, Locker rooms, and common areas are not available during this phase.

Membership Billing and Freezes

Membership Billing will resume July 1, 2020.
We will begin the process of extending memberships for paid time missed during the closure once the Center reopens. Please understand this is a process, and your membership will be updated as quickly as possible.

What if I am not ready to return?
  • Annual members may freeze their membership for a period of up to six months, no questions asked. For additional Membership Freeze policy details or to request your freeze, review the form found here.
  • 3-month members are traditionally not permitted to freeze memberships, however, due to the unique circumstances of this closure an exception has been made. 3-month members with a membership active during the COVD-19 facility closure will have one-month from the Center reopening to request a freeze of membership-time not used. Membership must be reactivated with-in one-year from the original date of purchase. For full policy information or to request a freeze of your 3-month membership review the form found here.
  • Freeze requests can be returned by email or mail.
  • To e-mail your request complete the form and save it to your device. Attach the saved copy of the form to an e-mail addressed to parksandrec@mansfieldct.org.
