Need a gift idea for the person that has everything?  Need a gift that keeps on giving?  How about a donation in a friend or family member's name?  This holiday if you make a donation as a holiday gift we will send the recipient a special  holiday card from The Caring Place while supplies last.  Just head to and select "Holiday Gift Tribute" and then include the recipient's name and address in the appropriate fields so we can properly wish them a wonderful holiday!

Giving Tuesday refers to the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. It is a movement to create an international day of giving at the beginning of the holiday season.  Looking to give a financial gift this year?  We would be honored if you selected The Caring Place on November 28th.  Donate here.

Hunger-Free Holidays is in Full Swing!

The Caring Place is holding its annual "Hunger-Free Holidays" Food Drive.  With YOUR help, we hope to collect 225,000 pounds of food by the end of the year for our neighbors in need.  Here's how you can make that happen:
  • Donate non-perishables! Bring items to our Donation drive through at 2000 Railroad Avenue.  It's open behind the building, Monday-Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Organize a Food Drive!  Your business, church, club, friends or neighborhood can make a bigger impact than you think!  If you'd like to borrow one of our blue barrels for your event, call David Earl at 512-943-0710 or email him at
  • Donate Money!  We get it, it's a busy time, but if you have a few dollars to spare, we can put it to good use!  $1 can buy 3.5 pounds of food!  Every dollar brings us closer to our goal. Here's how to make a monetary donation:
      • Donate Online and designate the Food Pantry at THIS LINK.
      • Bring cash or checks to The Caring Place at 2000 Railroad Avenue and tell reception it's for the Food Pantry.
      • Mail checks to:
          • The Caring Place,
          • P.O. Box 1215, Georgetown, TX  78627
          • Designate the Food Pantry on the memo line

Yes, You Can Buy Gifts at
The Caring Place!

Yes, we are going to remind you once again that when you shop at The Shops at The Caring Place or Second Helping, you are "shopping for good!"  It's not just a regular thrift store.

We are so serious about this, that not only are we regularly using the tagline "Shopping for Good," but we are also debuting gift tags this holiday season!  These complimentary gift tags can be slipped in a gift you purchase here to let the recipient know that the gift was purchased at a store that supports the mission of helping neighbors in our community.  Who doesn't love to add a bit more meaning to a gift?   These tags can be found at Second Helping and in the Holiday Room of Re-Finds and Boutique of The Shops at The Caring Place.

So, whether you are buying ornaments for a gift swap on Railroad Avenue or a unique gift item on Williams Drive, ask for that gift tag and continue "Shopping for Good!"

* Insider Shopping Tip :  Our stores feature 10% off merchandise every Tuesday!

Did you know you can buy The Caring Place's Gift Cards at BOTH of our stores?  They make the easiest gift you will ever give.  You can buy them in increments of $20 and even include one of our new custom gift tags so that recipients know that shopping at The Caring Place is "Shopping for Good!"
