When fitting a muslin or sloper it is more likely than not the seam line placement and/or angel will change. It is also not likely the Front and Back seam allowance raw edges will be even in the custom fitting process. Below is how-to change the Front seam line of a fitting muslin.
1 Here is the Front shoulder seam that was marked while pinned on the body. Draw a solid line along the marked area with a dark sharpie so it can be seen for accurate tracing.
2 Lay a sample of the original pattern piece directly on top of the marked muslin. Trace the new seam line (red). Note: the seam line on this example is only a slight change but do not be alarmed if yours is more extreme.
3 Using a gridded/transparent ruler draw a line 5/8" above the seam line (blue).
4 Trim the pattern on the new cutting line that was created 5/8" above the new seam line.
Introducing our newest product and it's just what you asked for. A tape measure that allows you to take your own measurements easily and best of all - Accurately!
It's a "snap", literally a snap connects the end of the tape to the back of the slider so you can secure it first and then pull the slider along until it is snug but not tight. Unsnap and the slider stays right on the exact measurement for easy notation.
