Hi Fellow St. Matthew’s Parishioners,
If you’ve been missing all of your friends and fellow parishioners from St. Matthew’s as much as we have, then coming to the service this Sunday is just what you need! As you have probably seen from Fr. Gary, St. Matthew’s will be conducting its first live church service this Sunday using Zoom.
The great thing about Zoom is that you’ll be able to see and even chat with everyone who is “there.” It won’t quite be the same as a regular St. Matthew’s service, but it will be close, and we’re confident you’ll like seeing and connecting with all those familiar faces and “participating” in the Service.
Here’s how to join a Zoom meeting for the first time (don’t worry, it’s not too complicated!).
Click on the Zoom meeting link in this email
. You should be re-directed to a webpage that will ask you to download the Zoom app on your internet device.
Step 2: Install and open the Zoom app
. Zoom should automatically open the St. Matthew’s meeting. If not, go back to the email and click on the Zoom meeting link again. You should now see a prompt to open the link in the Zoom app.
Step 3: Grant the necessary permissions to use your computer camera and microphone
in order to get started and join the St. Matthews meeting.
: On some devices (such as iPhones) clicking the meeting link may not begin the download process, in which case, go to your app store and install the app: “Zoom Cloud Meetings.” Then, go back to the St. Matthew’s meeting link and click it and follow the prompts.
If you don’t have a smart/internet device, that’s ok too
. Come join us by using any phone. Simply call the number below and enter the 11-digit meeting code and the password when prompted.
If you haven’t installed or used Zoom before
, we encourage you to try these steps today (Saturday) or early Sunday morning. If it works, you’ll actually end up in the St. Matthew’s meeting whenever you try it! If you have any problems, reach out to us by email at
, and we’ll try to help.
