Youth Advisory Board at City Council
YAB attended City Council recently to request use of Riverfront park for the Summer Movies Under the Stars series ....they were approved, with the fee waived! UYLC is proud of these amazing young adults who are always willing to step outside of their comfort zones to do their part in prevention! Presenting to City Council is daunting!
Feature film fees are sponsored by 3D Video and Electronics .

We are hoping to make these fun family events and hope to be able add to the fun with a family BBQ beforehand. We are looking for sponsors for this portion of the event. Sponsorship could include any of the following: hamburgers/hot dogs, buns, condiments, chips, cookies, providing a BBQ, or being our Grill Master. Sponsorships will be acknowledged in all event advertising (newsprint, radio, flyers, social media). If this is something your organization or business is interested in please call Jasmine at 208-743-0392.  
Grant News
It was a good month for us. We were notified that we received two fantastic grants!
The first one is from Idaho Community Foundation to bring Missoula Children's Theatre to town this fall. We will partner with Kamiah Elementary School , Kamiah Middle School, and Kamiah High School to put on a production of "King Arthur's Court". Look for details soon!
The second one was granted in partnership with our fiscal agent, The Life Center, from the Idaho Office of Drug Policy . We will partner with Arnzen’s Kamiah Drug t o provide "Strengthening Families" parenting classes, provide DeTerra Drug Deactivation Kits with all outgoing opioid prescriptions, provide Med-Safe lock boxes for homes with opioids, and provide a Lunch and Learn session to preview the film " Dying in Vein " about the current opioid crisis.
It is a great time to be in prevention! If you have an interest in any of these strategies, please give us a call. Better yet, come join us, we always welcome new members. Out next meeting is June 27 at 7:00 am at 413 Main Street in Kamiah. 
  Boys and Girls Club in Kamiah

For more than a century, Boys & Girls Clubs have helped put young people on the path to great futures. Their mission is “To enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.”  The vision is “ Provide a world-class Club Experience that assures success is within reach of every young person who enters our doors, with all members on track to graduate from high school with a plan for the future, demonstrating good character and citizenship, and living a healthy lifestyle.”
Boys & Girls Clubs of the Lewis Clark Valley (Lapwai Unit) will be providing club programs & activities for youth in Kamiah on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:00-4:00 pm at the Wa-A’yas Community Center. All youth ages 5-18 can participate in activities & programs and will be required to register as Boys & Girls Clubs members. Membership is free & taken care of by the Nez Perce Tribe. Parents/guardians need only to fill out & turn in a membership form. Boys & Girls Club Programs/Activities Include: Games Room; Arts & Crafts; Education Center; Gym; T.R.A.I.L. (Diabetes Prevention). Collaborating organizations are the Nez Perce Tribe, Tribal Community Centers & the Upriver Youth Leadership Council. For more info contact (208) 843-9371

$30.00 for General admission ages 8-64 $15.00 for children 3-7 and Seniors 65+.
Children under three are free.
