Are you finding you have extra time your hands?

It might be a good time to polish up some silver jewelry. Say you have a pretty, vintage silver abalone pin that's tarnished.  Here are a few do-it-yourself tips:
TARNX works well for big jobs - but you don’t want to damage the abalone. If you have baking soda at home, it will work better. Pour a little in your hand, and wet it to a paste.
Pour a little baking soda in your hand, and wet it to a paste.
Scrub the paste onto the silver with your finger, not over the stone.
Make sure to get the edges and back. Rinse in cold water.
This works well for vintage style earrings when you're running out the door and need to brighten them fast.  If you have bright shiny silver it may not work well because they’re often plated with rhodium.  This is a great way to shine things quickly without nasty chemicals.

We hope you and your loved ones are staying safe and healthy.
