When I began my career, I attended a class that taught me how to dress for success as a young professional. I remember how helpful this class was, for it taught me the color of clothes that were right for my skin tone, what type of clothes to purchase to fit my body type, and the appropriate shoes to wear as a professional woman. Ater attending the class, I came away confident I was ready to dress for success.
In his letter to the Ephesians believers, the apostle Paul reminded them of the importance of also dressing for success. He shared because there was a spiritual war going on between the forces of good and evil in the world, there were certain clothes he recommended they wear to help them win the battle. Clothes that included:
- The belt of truth (v. 14)
- The body armor of righteousness (v.14)
- The shoes of peace (15)
- The shield of faith (v.16)
- The helmet of salvation (v.17)
- The sword of the spirit (v.17)
Today, there's still a war going on between between the forces of good and evil. But there's no need to worry, for as long as you're dressed for success you can win!
