Get Help Quickly
When you call your Primary Care Provider with a health need, you can now get health advice quickly. Our new nurse advice service connects you to a CHA nurse, sometimes without even having to get off the phone.

Our new nurse advice service is already available at most of our sites, and will be added to Cambridge Pediatrics and Somerville Pediatrics sites very soon. If you’re sick, or have health questions, call your primary care site for answers. For non-urgent needs, you can still send us a message in MyCHArt. Our Nurse Advice Center will be helping with those messages too!

Protect Your Children

Vaccines are an important part of your child’s healthcare and can protect your children from getting very sick. This means you can prevent your children from serious diseases like meningitis, HPV-related cancers, whooping cough, COVID-19 and even the flu.

Do you know what vaccines your child needs? Visit your child’s MyChart account to see their vaccine history. Click on “Health Summary” and select “Immunizations”. To see the vaccines your child needs, select the “Preventive Care” tab in the same “Health Summary” section.

To schedule a vaccine appointment, you can call your child’s primary care center or send a message via MyCHArt. Patients 12 - 24 can also get vaccines at the Cambridge, Everett, Malden, and Somerville Teen Health Centers

Public Health Emergency Ending on May 11th

The federal government is ending the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency on May 11, 2023. What does this mean for you?

What’s staying the same?
  • Medicare and Medicaid (Mass Health) will still pay for COVID-19 vaccines after May 11th. Most other insurances will likely continue to cover the cost as well.
  • Existing copays for the vaccine will remain in place.
  • COVID-19 treatments will continue to be covered. You will be responsible for any cost sharing like your deductible.

What’s changing?
  • Insurance coverage for COVID-19 testing will end unless a provider orders the test when you have symptoms or were exposed.
  • Elective testing (like for travel) will likely not be covered by insurance.
  • Insurance companies will likely not cover the cost of at-home COVID-19 tests.

What you can do before May 11th
  • Purchase at-home tests before your insurance stops covering them.
  • Order free at-home tests from the government – 4 tests per household.

It’s always best to check with your insurance company to find out how your coverage may change. CHA will share updates as we learn more.
