Happy Belated Earth Week from Coastal Kayak!
In every outthrust headland, in every curving beach, in every grain of sand there is the story of the earth. - Rachel Carson
When one tugs at a single thing in nature, he finds it attached to the rest of the world. - John Muir
Here is your country. Cherish these natural wonders, cherish the natural resources, cherish the history and romance as a sacred heritage, for your children and your children's children. Do not let selfish men or greedy interests skin your country of its beauty, its riches or its romance. -Theodore Roosevelt

We will be known forever by the tracks we leave. - Native American Proverb

A nation that destroys its soils destroys itself. Forests are the lungs of our land, purifying the air and giving fresh strength to our people. -Franklin D. Roosevelt

You cannot get through a single day without having an impact on the world around you. What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make. -Jane Goodall

Quotes such as these make me feel so energized, inspired...and guilty. For example sometimes the tomatoes in all that packaging look so much better than the loose ones; sometimes I need to do the laundry before I have a full load; and sometimes I forget to bring my own bag into Walgreen's. But, this year, my worst sin against Earth Day was our winter trip. It was amazing but we logged over 8,000 miles!
Mitch already rides his bike to work an average of 5 days/week. I always drive. But this summer, I resolve to ride my bike a minimum of 3 days/week. How can you help me? By keeping me honest! Anyone who comes in this summer between Memorial Day and Labor Day and asks me (Jenifer) how my Earth Week resolution is going will get either a free reusable Coastal Kayak water bottle or a free Coastal Kayak sticker (while supplies last, one per customer over the summer). AND anyone who comes in this season and tells us about her/his own successful Earth Week resolution will get 10% off any on-site kayak or paddleboard rental (one per customer over the summer)!
I know my Earth Week resolution will barely begin to atone for the gas we burned, but it's a start. And we all have to start somewhere!
We'll see you on the water!

Fenwick Island Yacht Club's Summer Schedule

Does the term "yacht club" make you think of stuffy old people wearing funny little hats? Well, that is definitely not the case with the Fenwick Island Yacht Club. No stuffiness - just a bunch of nice folks who love playing on the water and want to get lots of other people involved. Membership fees are a whopping $15 for an individual and $20 for a couple.
