February is Heart Health Month and the Chronic Disease Prevention and Management workgroup is inviting you to visit the updated Chronic Disease webpage with great tips and advice to prevent and manage chronic conditions.

Coalition members are asked to check out the webpage with the updated Chronic Disease flyer and share widely with community members.

Check out the latest The Doctor Is In Podcast where Howard County Health Officer, Dr. Maura J. Rossman discusses the Health Department’s recent grant initiative which aims to address health disparities and the impact of chronic diseases, like heart disease, kidney disease and diabetes, in specific communities in the County. 

Dr. Rossman talks to one of the certified Community Health Workers, who will provide information and resources to aid in chronic disease prevention and management to decrease hospital utilization rates in those communities. 
Join Columbia Association for the Change in Columbia: A Fresh Approach to Wellbeing on Monday, February 27, 2023 at 6 pm at The Other Barn in the village of Oakland Mills.

This speaker series will include an expert panel discussion – moderated by Anika Baty-Mills of Columbia Inspired Magazine – offering a fresh approach on what it means to be well. 

This event is free and open to all with light refreshments and free childcare for kids aged 0-13 years old (which will include a wellness activity specifically geared toward the younger set).
