Request Food Map Posters and Food Brochures
Help us connect residents to resources! The Howard County Local Health Improvement Coalition (HCLHIC) is happy to provide you with copies of the Howard County Food Connection Map poster and any of the Howard County food pantry brochures! To request the 16 x 20 food connection map poster or any food pantry brochures, please head over to the Healthy Eating webpage and fill out this short form.

Healthy Beginnings
Introducing the P.E.A.C.E. Project
The Perinatal Equity and Care for Everyone (P.E.A.C.E.) Project provides clients, families and professionals with information about prenatal, postpartum and infant resources available in Howard County. Anyone in Howard County is eligible to request a referral through this program. Learn more about how you or a family member can request a referral for services here. Healthy Babies Equity Act
Effective July 1, 2023, non-citizen pregnant Maryland residents with qualifying income can apply to receive full medical benefits. Medicaid pays for health care for people who cannot afford it. Sign up for Medicaid as soon as you know you are pregnant and get the care you and your baby need right away. You may also keep Medicaid up to four months after your baby is born. Community Health Workers (CHWs) Needed
Do you know anyone who is...connected in their community, passionate about helping others, and lives in Zip Codes 21044, 21045, 21075, 20723, 20762, or 20794? The Howard County Health Department (HCHD) is looking for those interested in helping neighbors get connected to needed health resources. They can earn a stipend while doing it. The application deadline is July 9, 2023. For more information, contact Emily Phillips at ephillips@howardcountymd.gov or fill out the application!
Unity in the Community Resource Fair
The Howard County Department of Community Resources and Services and partners are hosting a Unity in the Community Resource Fair on Saturday, July 29, 2023 from 11:00am to 3:00 pm at East Columbia Library Park. This Fair is FREE to the public and will include family services, health and community resources, food giveaways, arts and crafts, raffles, prizes and much more. MDOT Survey for Long-Range Transportation Plan
The Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) is kicking off the new Maryland Transportation Plan (MTP), that will guide the state's vision and corresponding policy and investment priorities for the next 20 years. MDOT has launched a short survey on proposed key outcomes, locations where transportation improvements are needed, and budget investment priorities. Please take the survey by July 10, 2023 to help guide the state's vision and corresponding policy and investment priorities for the next 20 years! Take MDOT SURVEY to share your ideas.

Essential Resources Day and Free Expungement Clinic
Columbia Community Care and partners are hosting an Essential Resources Day & Free Expungement Clinic on July 29, 2023 from 10:00am to 4:00pm at Hammond High School in Columbia. This clinic will focus on health, healing, freedom and liberation through the arts, movement, activism and much more. Refreshments and lunch will be provided. Howard County 50+ Centers Nutrition and Fitness Programs
Howard County Office on Aging & Independence offers a wide range of services to promote healthy aging, improve the health and quality of life for older adults and adults with disabilities to include exercise, nutrition programs and evidence-based programs. Choose from a wide variety of in-person or virtual fitness classes, explore your passion for flower arranging, fashion or birding, or join lunch at a center near you to reconnect with friends. Opioid Overdose Response Training
The Howard County Health Department offers FREE Opioid Overdose Response Program monthly virtual trainings. In-person training and Narcan distribution also available on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10am-2pm at the Harm Reduction RV in the Health Department parking lot. Call Bureau of Behavioral Health at 410-313-6202, orpresponse@howardcountymd.gov.
