The American College of Bankruptcy is pleased to announce the second annual Discovering Restructuring Expertise and Mentorship Symposium (DREAMS) to be held on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at the Howard University School of Law, one of the country’s oldest law schools and the oldest historically black law school in the United States. Presented in collaboration with the American Bankruptcy Institute, the symposium features well-known jurists, professors and practitioners in the insolvency field and also includes Howard law students. Building upon the inaugural event’s success, the program informs students about careers in the insolvency field and provides a glimpse of cutting-edge bankruptcy law issues. The program also features dialogue among members of the professional community and the next generation of insolvency lawyers on ways to increase inclusion and expand opportunities for young, diverse lawyers.
Charles A. Beckham, Jr., the Chair of the College, shared that “the American College of Bankruptcy is thrilled to sponsor the Howard DREAMS Symposium. The College is dedicated to the enhancement of professionalism, scholarship and service in bankruptcy and insolvency law and practice. Support of the Howard DREAMS Symposium helps us fulfill our mission.” Many of the country’s top insolvency judges, professors and lawyers are eager to support the College’s vision and are traveling from as far as California and Texas to join the live event. The program is also offered virtually to maximize participation.
