1. Ribbon Cutting at Simply HOME by Simply Charming Too: Join us on April 4th for a special ribbon-cutting event at Simply HOME by Simply Charming Too. It is going to be a fantastic celebration!
2. LaFontaine Cadillac Ribbon Cutting and Special Unveiling: Don't miss the ribbon-cutting ceremony at LaFontaine Cadillac on April 4th at 6pm. There will be a special unveiling you won't want to miss!
3. Ribbon Cutting at Betty James Pretty Things: Join us on April 5th for another exciting ribbon-cutting event at Betty James Pretty Things. It's going to be a great kickoff to a weekend full of fun!
4. New Member Welcome: If you're a new member or interested in learning more about Chamber offerings, be sure to join us on April 9th for our New Member Welcome event. It's a great opportunity to connect with fellow members and discover all that the Chamber has to offer.
5. Referral Group Open House: Save the date for our Referral Group Open House on April 10th. It's a great opportunity to network and explore new ways to grow your business.

On January 10, 2024, the U.S. Department of Labor published a final rule, effective March 11, 2024, revising the Department’s guidance on how to analyze who is an employee or independent contractor under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). This final rule rescinds the Independent Contractor Status Under the Fair Labor Standards Act rule (2021 IC Rule), that was published on January 7, 2021 and replaces it with an analysis for determining employee or independent contractor status that is more consistent with the FLSA as interpreted by longstanding judicial precedent.



The misclassification of employees as independent contractors may deny workers minimum wage, overtime pay, and other protections. This final rule will reduce the risk that employees are misclassified as independent contractors while providing a consistent approach for businesses that engage with individuals who are in business for themselves.
