What inspires and drives you in your work or business?
I have spent the majority of my career working in the medical industry most specifically with the Senior population. I have experience working in Home Health and Hospice , Independent Living, Memory Care and Assisted Living. There is an overwhelming need in the senior population for education about the resources that are available. Many seniors and their family members face uncertainty about their future. My goal for many years has been to be that resource to as many seniors and their families as possible. To assist then in finding medical care, housing and financial assistance not only in my own company Moving Mom Senior Advisors but also in the organizations I work for. I am always looking for new opportunities to reach out and support the community.
What do you love about being a Chamber member?
The Chamber is an amazing organization . I love the collaboration and the support of not only the organization itself, but local business owners and leaders in the community. One of my favorite things is that I am always learning something new about what local businesses do and how they support the community. Finding new resources and support systems enable me to reach my goals with new levels in my daily work life. On top of that, creating new friendships makes it all the more fun. I have found so many new ways to volunteer in the community and being a part of the Chamber gives me plenty of new opportunities.
What career advice do you live by and who provided the advice?
Don't look at your competition as the enemy but rather a resource. I have made it a point in my career to seek out my competitors in the industry I work in and create a relationship, learn about what they do and why. When you work to support the community which you do business with, whether it is customer relationships or business to business relationships you will find success . You cannot do business in any community without giving back whether with volunteer time, or financial support.
Who inspires you and why?
I am very inspired by people who dedicate their lives to helping others, both people and animals. It takes a great deal of mental and emotional energy to spend your days working in situations that are often traumatic. I have loved volunteer work my entire life and when I have volunteered with organizations like that , I am in awe of people that do that kind of work every single day.
Can you share a recent success story?
When I began work at Noble on the Lake this past February , one of my main goals was to find ways to make the residents lives better in keeping with the luxury lifestyle they moved to Noble on the Lake looking for. In observing the resident's needs I found that one of the ways we could elevate the "maintenance free" lifestyle residents were seeking was to partner with various mobile medical professionals, Whether they need an appointment for a simple cold, ongoing physical therapy or something as serious as an EKG or Ultrasound they can get those services right in their home. Since beginning the partnerships there have been multiple comments from perspective residents stating that this was a game changer ! It was really great to hear that these services are going to be helping people.
