ART Doing Good

What inspires and drives you in your work or business?

Honestly, it's a combination of two things I absolutely love: painting and giving back. ART Doing Good lets me do both at once. I get to create art that not only inspires people but also helps support amazing causes, and that really keeps me going.

What do you love about conducting business in Livingston County?

I love how beautiful Livingston County is, and the sense of community here is just unbeatable. It’s like being in Northern Michigan, but with the bonus of being close to Lansing, Ann Arbor, and Detroit. People here really support one another, and it’s been an amazing place to grow my business.

What do you love about being a Chamber member?

The people I've met through the Chamber have been so important to my business. It's more than just networking—it's about real connections. Plus, I love the events the chamber puts on, like Balloonfest and the Fantasy of Lights, which bring so much energy and magic to Howell.

What is the biggest career challenge you’ve had and how did you overcome it?

Starting something new is always a challenge, but it's also exciting! When I launched ART Doing Good, it was all about turning that challenge into an opportunity. I jumped into the unknown and just kept moving forward—and I’m so glad I did.

If you could collaborate with anyone, who would it be? Why?

Oh, without a doubt, Tony Robbins. I really connect with his message of positivity and giving back, which is exactly what ART Doing Good is all about.

What career advice do you live by and who provided the advice?

I’ve got two pieces of advice I carry with me daily. One is 'Be kinder than necessary,' from my friend Lizann Anderson, and the other is from The Go-Giver by Bob Burg and John David Mann: 'The secret to success is giving.' These are both reminders to lead with kindness and generosity.

Who inspires you and why?

I’m inspired by so many people—Marie Forleo and Joe Dispenza are two life-changing influences that come to mind. They both have these incredibly unique and positive views on life and the world.

What is your greatest personal & professional achievement?

I’d have to say starting ART Doing Good and the concept of the 100-piece 8'x4' painting. It’s all about showing that while we’re each unique, together we create something bigger. Connecting art with giving back has been such a fulfilling journey for me.

Can you share a recent success story?

In the past couple of years, ART Doing Good has raised over $50,000 for local nonprofits. It’s been amazing to see people connect with my work and how much impact art can have – especially when people come together for a cause.

What exciting plans or initiatives do you have for 2025?

For 2025, I’m really focused on growing ART Doing Good. I’m looking to partner with more organizations and bring this concept to even more people. It’s all about continuing to use art to make a difference, and I can’t wait to see where it goes!
