Help keep Norfolk Picture Perfect!
Join the Norfolk Community Association for Spring Clean Up.
Meet in front of the HUB at 9:00am to help refresh the town after a long hard Winter.

We will provide the trash bags.
Bring a pair of work gloves and wear appropriate foot gear.
Breakfast goodies will be served to get you started.

Saturday, April 27 at 1 p.m.
Help us get our trails ready for the season. We'll meet outside the Hub in the center of town for assignments. Please wear work gloves and sturdy shoes. The areas may be wet. Work sessions will end around 3 p.m. If you plan to attend, please help us get a head count by contacting Bill Couch by email at billcouch1@mac.com.

Earth Day Camp Fire Poetry - A Night of Mary Oliver
APRIL 27, 2019

Join us at sunset around the camp fire as we share some of Mary Oliver’s poetry. Readers and listeners are both welcome to enjoy the evening sky, a bright fire and some refreshments at our visitor center at 200 Canaan Mountain Road, Falls Village. 
Bring your own camp chair, relax, and watch the stars come out as you listen to some specially chosen poems celebrating Mary Oliver’s life and talents.

Conservation Commission Annual Event: “Talk and Walk”
Saturday, May 11 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.

The Norfolk Conservation Commission will host their annual event, a “Talk and Walk” to learn about native and invasive plants in downtown Norfolk, and what the Commission is doing. The program will start at the Hub with a lecture by Conservation Commission members and naturalists John Anderson and Elizabeth Corrigan, followed by a walk to areas of interest in downtown.

Free and open to the public; snacks will be served. For inclement weather, please wear boots and a rain coat.

ABOUT NELL IRVIN PAINTER
Nell Irvin Painter is Edwards Professor of American History emerita, and author of, among other notable books, The History of White People (2010) and Sojourner Truth, A Life, A Symbol (1996). She is the recipient of virtually every major fellowship and honor the profession has to offer. After retiring in 2005, she earned a BFA in painting from the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers and an MFA from Rhode Island School of Design—experiences at the center of her widely praised memoir, and National Book Critics Circle award finalist for autobiography, Old In Art School: A Memoir of Starting Over (2018).
