Warrior Pride on display during Homecoming parade and game
There was a great turnout of students, parents, friends, and community members for this year's Homecoming Parade, held on September 16. In addition to giving our student athletes, performers, clubs, and schools a chance to shine, the parade showcased our community's tremendous pride in our Warriors and in our great city. We also had a great turnout for our Homecoming game on September 18, in which Wayne beat Troy by 49-7, making the team 4-0 for the season. Go Warriors!

Last week, Weisenborn held a "Parent ProgressBook Night" for families who do not have access to the Internet or who are having trouble accessing the information. The district uses ProgressBook to
provide parents with attendance, schedule, grade, and report card data for each of their children. The school plans on hosting these meetings quarterly to ensure parents stay up to date on their child's progress.

Monticello students develop science, tech skills while building an energy bike
This past summer, four sixth grade girls earned a coveted spot at the AEGIS (Activating & Energizing Girls in Science) Program conference. The students, along with teacher Mr. Berry, spent three days gaining confidence in science and technology as they built an energy bike from scratch. The students were trained to be student leaders, developed their own lesson plan to share with their peers, and completely wired and troubleshot the bike and its circuit board. They will use the bike this year to demonstrate how electricity is produced and used.
The students also toured the DP&L headquarters and participated in a meet and greet with women engineers at DP&L. From building STEM skills to gaining leadership experience, this was a great experience for the students!
