We're back with four
sizzling Summer shows - live!
Hopefully you're headed to the beach this month. I'm sure you're busy so I'll make this short and sweet. We had a big success in July, three sold out performances of Mystery in the Mine, our first live shows in 16 months. They were performed inside the Widow Jane Mine in Rosendale, New York and we got as much out of the experience as our appreciative audiences did. Murder Cafe is back!

This month we have four exciting performances, each at a different location. (We're thinking there's got to be one near you.) We're back on Bannerman Island with "Sunset Boulevard", the staged radio play, and then it's off to the Historic Hotel Broadalbin, one of our favorite venues, with the fan favorite, "Murder at the Mic". And for the first time we'll be at The Paper Mill in Naponoch, New York, also with "Murder at the Mic". And you'll find us at the Bevier House in Stone Ridge, New York with a gilded age mystery and a fundraiser for the Ulster County Historical Society.

Whatever show and venue you choose, we look forward to seeing you - live, in person and safe.

Thanks for reading.

Murder Cafe
Mystery at the Bevier House
This mystery with history is set in 1890 at a Gilded Age party hosted by Louis and Catherine Bevier at their historic residence, a site the Bevier family has called home for over 200 years. You’ll mingle with the Bevier’s friends and notable guests including local industrialist Thomas Cornell, artist Julia Dillion and law professor Percy Longfellow. You’ll be fussed over by Horace, Louis’s loyal butler, and Charlene, Catherine’s fortune-hunting maid. Katherine Kerry, a reporter for the Rondout Daily Freeman, observes much more than glitz and gaiety after one of the guests is murdered.

Friday, August 20th
6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Sunset Boulevard
The staged radio play.
After the classic movie there was the radio version. Theatre on the Road will be presenting it live, and safely, on Bannerman Island. Five actors playing nine roles will be costumed as they bring to life the story of a Hollywood screenwriter who enters into a dangerous relationship with Norma Desmond, a faded film star who is seeking to make a triumphant return to the silver screen. Hudson Valley actress Nanette Ayers, who was last seen on Bannerman Island in “Arsenic and Old Lace” will be appearing as Norma Desmond.
