Update for Friday, May 22, 2020
  • In today’s (Friday) press conference Governor Andrew Cuomo said he expects the Mid-Hudson Region to begin Phase 1 reopening next week. This is contingent on the death rate continuing to decline and having enough contact tracers.

  • Governor Cuomo announced that in anticipation of the reopening, construction businesses may now begin staging for the beginning of Phase 1. This does not allow for any construction work to begin, but materials and equipment may be staged on job sites.

  • The governor also announced the state would begin a loan program for small-businesses and nonprofits with less than 20 full time equivalent employees. Small landlords who have seen a loss of rental income also qualify for the program. This program would provide a low interest loan to be paid off over 5 years. As more information about this program is released, we will include it in this email.

  • Pre-application for these funds will be opened on May 26. For more information on the program, click HERE.

  • Childcare providers for essential workers are being encouraged to keep an eye out for the pediatric inflammatory disease related to COVID-19. The state has put out information on what to look for and it can be found HERE.
