2025 ANNUAL FALL LUNCHEON

As we shine the light on teens overcoming relationship violence, we’re honored to welcome our keynote speaker, April Hernandez Castillo.

April is an author, actress, and speaker whose powerful memoir, Embracing Me, chronicles her journey as a teen survivor of intimate partner violence through resilience, courage, and transformation. From the streets of the Bronx to celebrated roles in Freedom Writers and Dexter, April is a voice for survivors everywhere, reminding us that we have the power to rewrite our story. She takes the audience behind the scenes to the most intimate parts of her life and uses her voice and humor to ignite, empower, and educate her audience.

Don’t miss this opportunity to be part of a transformative event that will remind us of all the extraordinary power we hold to create change.

NOT JUST SUNSHINE: UNDERSTANDING THE SUMMER STRUGGLES OF SURVIVORS

Not all summer stories are filled with sunshine. For many survivors of relationship violence, summer can bring increased danger, isolation, and emotional strain. In our latest blog, we explore how to support survivors during this season with awareness, safety planning, and compassion.

BEYOND THE BRUISES: WHY RELATIONSHIP VIOLENCE IS A PUBLIC HEALTH CRISIS

Do you feel safe at home? Sometimes, one question can change everything. Relationship violence is a healthcare issue. It shows up in emergency rooms as unexplained bruises, in clinics as chronic pain, and in therapy sessions as anxiety that never quite goes away. But it doesn’t have to stay hidden. Read our latest blog to learn more.
