Human Options in the Media
Be sure to read TimesOC’s article on how domestic violence organizations, like ours, have been impacted during the pandemic.

This article shines a light on the rise in abuse during the pandemic, how victims have been affected, and the importance of letting victims know resources and help is still available. The article helps raise visibility for unexpected issues like intensity of abuse, legal advocacy needs, lost entry points, and brings awareness to programs and services. To read more click here.

Journey to Healing: Olivia's Story
Olivia, mother of 2-year-old, Jessie, successfully completed our transitional housing program. She was able to secure employment and permanent housing right before the COVID-19 shutdowns began.

Unfortunately, Olivia's job was considered "non-essential" and she was unable to work after the shutdowns. Because of Olivia’s documentation status, she was not eligible for unemployment. With nowhere to turn and at risk of losing her home, Olivia thought of her case manager she worked with at Human Options. Her case manager was there to help! Human Options provided rental assistance while Olivia could not work, making it possible for Olivia to maintain a safe home for Jessie and herself.

Olivia has recently been able to return to work and support her family.
