From the Program Director

Sarah Chandonnet

Now that summer is almost over, we at the Humanist Hub are excited to launch a busy fall season of inspiring talks by amazing speakers; discussion groups where you can form deep friendships and learn more about yourself and the world; action and service projects to change the world; parties and social gatherings, and much more. This first formal program of our fall season fittingly falls on a meaningful day, and we are proud to present an especially meaningful talk for the occasion, by one of Harvard's most respected humanists :

Join us on Sunday, the 15th anniversary of 9/11, for a talk with Harvard Professor and historical and cultural sociologist Orlando Patterson, who will reflect on an essay from 2011, where he spoke of freedom as the core secular value of the United States.
The author of three novels, Patterson has published widely in journals of opinion and the national press, especially the New York Times, where he was a guest columnist for several weeks. His columns have also appeared in Time Magazine, Newsweek, The Public Interest, The New Republic, and The Washington Post. 1:30-3:00pm, 30 JFK Street. Read more here.
