What does Nasir Hospital mean to our patients?

One family shares their story of how Nasir Hospital has been a cornerstone in their lives, providing medical care and support at every crucial stage:

Sara was born in March 2020, marking the start of a new chapter for her family amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Her mother Melany, 24 years old, had been receiving prenatal care at the hospital’s Gynecology Clinic.

At a routine check up, the team detected unexpected complications. An emergency cesarean section was performed that same day, and Sara was born.

Sara’s premature arrival presented significant challenges. She was born delicate and needed special care in the neonatal unit for the first 10 days of her life. A multidisciplinary team including pediatricians, neonatologists, and specialized nurses, coordinated round-the-clock care to stabilize Sara and support her early development during this critical period.

The unexpected intensive care was also more than the family could afford. They received financial support from the Nasir Hospital Care Fund, which is financed by hospital revenue and generous donations from HFUSA supporters.

As Sara grows, Melany continues to make the 1.5-hour journey from their home to Nasir Hospital Pediatrics Clinic for Sara’s check ups. The timely and quality care Sara received has led to a normal and healthy life. Melany shares that the time it takes to travel to the hospital is outweighed by the familiar and comfortable environment they find there.

Sara’s grandparents, her older brother Ángel Alejandro, 13 years old, and other family members have also trusted Nasir Hospital for their medical care. Ángel Alejandro recently needed surgery that was performed by a team of specialists at the hospital.

Once again, this type of medical service was financially out of reach for the family, but they were helped through the Care Fund. Ángel successfully recovered thanks to the high-quality care he received.

Today, Sara is preparing to start school. She is a healthy and outgoing child who loves painting, dancing, and playing with her dolls and toys. This family’s journey of hope and care at Nasir Hospital is why we are committed to offering quality medical care and integrated support to sustain and change lives. 

The Nasir Hospital Care Fund provides critical support so that families don’t delay or avoid medical treatment due to cost. The fund covers any aspect of care from evaluations to surgeries to hospitals stays for people in need.

The need for the comprehensive and high-quality care that patients find at Nasir Hospital continues to grow. HFUSA and HF Healthcare are investing in infrastructure to expand services and ensure sustainability.

We are witnessing exciting progress at Nasir Hospital! Rooms are being filled, walls are up, and our electricians and medical gas teams are hard at work. We’re one step closer to delivering a facility that will serve our community.
