Humble
JANUARY 2019

Note From The Principal

I want to take this opportunity to wish all of our RSPA families a happy and healthy new year. I hope your holiday was relaxing and filled with memories to cherish with family and friends.  Our students have transitioned back into their academic routines, and believe it or not, the beginning of the third quarter is here. As always, please be sure to contact your child's teacher should you have any questions about their progress.

January still provides a drop in temperatures. We ask that you please make sure your children are properly dressed for school. With the climate change, illnesses have been a concern for some of our students. We understand that illnesses occur, and we appreciate you doing everything in your power to make sure your students stay healthy and attend school when appropriate.
To help us work toward building literacy in all academic areas with our students, please ensure that your children are reading at least 30 minutes per day. This will ensure growth and is a vital part of development for reading skills.
Reminder, our tardy bell is at 7:45. Please ensure that your child is in school before that time, to reduce tardies.
Additionally, it's important for students to arrive to school on time. The first hour period provides students with a smooth transition to a day of learning. At this time, the students review the day's schedule, copy homework assignments, listen to school announcements, get breakfast, and distribute notes and materials from home to their teachers. To provide your children with a positive start to the day, please plan your morning so your child arrives in homeroom before 7:45. After 7:50, they are considered tardy.

Sincerely,

William Davis, M.Ed.
Principal
