Humboldt County is home to some of the best outdoor activities on the planet. Our pristine forests, rivers and beaches (sans Clam Beach) provide our community with countless hours of fun and exploration. During certain times of the year, it can seem like there is a lack of enjoyable community events, but our summers would disagree. With our weekly farmers markets, The Kinetic Sculpture Race and Oysterfest, The Arcata Plaza is home to countless summer events, including this weeks 4th of July Jubilee. The Independence Day celebration will go from 10:00am - 5:00pm and will feature acrobats, live music, bubble parade, a kids zone and bunch of local vendors. If The Plaza is not your bag, you can always check out the Eureka Main Street 4th of July Festival, which takes place on Second Street and also goes from 10:00am - 5:00pm. Eureka's Main Street celebration has a Fireworks Show which will begin at 10:00pm. For those of you who live a little further south, you can always check out Fortuna's Firework Festival which is at Newburg Park from 5:30pm - 10:00pm.
