The much anticipated In-n-Out/Chipotle/Mod Pizza culinary plaza is starting to take shape along Broadway/101 in Eureka. Given the natural order of things, there tends to be some sort of detrimental ripple effect as a result from this development. In this specific instance there has been a lot of anticipatory backlash regarding the additional traffic that this project will bring. If you've driven through Eureka lately, you will have noticed that they just put in a new traffic light at the W Hawthrone/Broadway intersection. Towards the end of November the City of Eureka is set to install a second traffic light at the Vigo St/Broadway intersection. If your keeping score at home, that's two new traffic lights on Broadway in less then two months. I personally look at it as a necessary evil, kinda like eating your vegetables. If you want to scarf down that steak (In-n-Out) and pasta (Chipotle), then your gonna have to force down those green beans (traffic) too. I'll deal with the traffic if it means we have a couple more places to eat and a few dozen new jobs to boot. The project is slated to wrap up by the first quarter of 2020, but I wouldn't hold my breath given our winter weather and unforeseen development woes.
