I apologize for the newsletters' absence last week, but it wasn't in vain. We went on our first family vacation of 2021 and took a road trip down to Santa Barbara. Our first stop was the Santa Cruz Boardwalk which I hate to say, was pretty underwhelming, being that the majority of the attractions were not open. We stayed the night in an Airbnb in Seaside, CA and headed down to Santa Barbara the next morning. After a day of traveling we just lounged around the pool at our new Airbnb and called it a day. We took our kids to the Santa Barbara Zoo the next day (video below), then walked around downtown. On our way back up to San Francisco we stopped by the town of Solvang ( https://www.solvangusa.com/ ) which is known as the Danish Capital of America and was well worth the time. In San Francisco, we went to the California Academy of Science ( https://www.calacademy.org/ ) for the day which was probably the best thing we did on the whole trip. From the vast aquarium and rain forest exhibit to the SkyStar Wheel, the kids had a blast and definitely didn't want to leave (video below). A road trip with a five year old and a three year old was a little exhausting to say the least, but it was more then worth it to break out of the routine and do something new.
