Hunger Hike 2020 - Begins THIS Sunday
Hunger Hike is one of the longest-running & most well-respected fundraising events, with a history stretching back nearly 30 years. Together, we’ve raised more than $2 million to help FIGHT HUNGER. Proceeds from Hunger Hike support the work of three local agencies – Lafayette Urban Ministry, Food Finders Food Bank, Inc. & the St. Thomas Aquinas Haiti Ministry. Hunger Hike is an opportunity to support these outstanding local organizations while being part of a meaningful community event.

Meet the LUM Fall Semester INTERNS
Dora & Breanne - Ivy Tech Human Services Interns
The LUM After School Program provides safe, fun and enriching childcare for children in Kindergarten to 8th grade. The program is staffed by a professionally trained educator, teachers, interns and volunteers. Interns are especially appreciated for bringing their passion and eagerness to learn to LUM programs. Below are the two interns currently working with the LUM After School Program. LUM is fortunate to have Dora & Breanne on the ASP team and for the partnership with the Ivy Tech Human Services program.
Dora Arteaga

Dora is from Chicago, lived in Florida and moved to Lafayette with her family 13 years ago. She graduated from Harrison High School in 2018 and is currently enrolled in the Human Services program at Ivy Tech Community College.

After Dora graduates (May 2021), she plans on pursuing a bachelor's degree from Purdue University focused on addiction counseling.
Breanne Stewart

Breanne grew up and lives in Lafayette. She graduated from Faith Christian School and is currently enrolled in the Human Services program at Ivy Tech Community College.

After Breanne graduates (May 2021), she plans on working in the human service field, to gain experience; and pursuing a bachelor's degree in Human Services from Purdue University.

Patriot Day - Remembering September 11th
LUM Observes Moment of Silence at 8:46 a.m.
Tomorrow, Friday, September 11, is Patriot Day in the US a day to remember the people killed in the attacks of 2001. LUM staff will observe the day with a moment of silence at 8:46 a.m. EST,  the time the first plane struck the World Trade Center.
