Dear Sally,
Blessed Are They Who Do
Hunger & Thirst for Righteousness
They shall be filled ... Matthew 5:6
1. They are Wholly, NOT partially God’s. A thirsty person drinks deep drafts from
Christ's Fountain and he is filled with Heaven's Power over their weaknesses.
2. They hunger/thirst for answers = Ask Acts 9:6 what to do? --“RECEIVE + DO" His will!
3. They are “dependent” upon Christ to supply Divine Power--they trust and follow daily!
a. They see themselves as God’s servant and serve Him willingly.
b. When we love God & Jesus--we enjoy serving/pleasing them. We love to obey!
4. They STRIVE to be like Christ. They SEEK, SURRENDER, + COOPERATE with His will.
5. Power to DO right is FREELY given to all who hunger and thirst to receive it.
Isaiah 55:1
6. They SEARCH for the “Fountain of Christ” to quench their burning thirst!
a. SEEKING the Living Springs--they are brought into communion with Christ.
b. All that believe on Christ--never thirst, Rev 3:20, John 6:35
7. Christ is the Bread of Life, John 6:35, 51-57 …
They Eat His flesh and drink His blood for Life = They live out His life in them.
8. The Continual Cry of their Heart is More of Thee--Psl 55:10
When we hunger and thirst to live the life of Christ out in our mortal flesh, we quickly learn of our need of dependence upon Christ and of His re-creative power working in our life to accomplish our transformation. We hunger for the source of all that is good--learn to shun all evil--and by our free will choice live uprightly IN Him. We thirst for the water and life’s blood of Christ indwelling to empower, to redeem and restore us into His likeness. Redemption from sin requires a joint effort of Christ’s life/power, and our cooperation to be redeemed. May we all find God's Fountain of Life!
