We’re thrilled to share that Huntingdon County Youth Leadership is officially BACK!

The Huntingdon County Chamber of Commerce is proud to have brought this impactful program back to life after being paused in 2020 due to COVID-19. While we waited for life — and schedules — to return to normal, we also went through several transitions that made it difficult to give this program the dedication and focus our local youth deserve. But this year, we made it a priority to reintroduce it — and we couldn’t be more excited about its return!

We kicked things off last Friday with a wonderful morning of connection, learning, and laughter. Our new class of students impressed us from the start — diving into icebreakers, team-building activities, and open conversations. They quickly formed bonds and showed a natural ability to lead, collaborate, and support one another.

By the end of the morning, they were taking charge — coming up with their own activity to close out the session! Their enthusiasm and leadership remind us exactly why this program is so important for our community’s future.

We’re already looking forward to welcoming them back in March for the full-day conference and watching them continue to grow into the incredible leaders of tomorrow.

Get Ready for Small Business Saturday 2025!

We’re thrilled to be gearing up for Small Business Saturday 2025, coming up on November 29th! Our list of participating businesses is already growing—and we’d love to add you to it!

This year, we’re making things even more exciting with three giveaway gift baskets packed full of goodies from local and regional businesses and organizations. Shoppers will have two easy ways to enter: by scanning a QR code (for quick, digital entry) or by filling out a traditional paper ticket.

As a participating business, your only responsibility is to help spread the word on Small Business Saturday—by displaying the provided QR code sign or offering entry tickets to shoppers. If you’d like to contribute an item to the gift baskets, we’d love your support, but it’s completely optional!

We’ll be promoting all participating businesses across our social media, website, newsletters, and press releases, giving you extra visibility during one of the most celebrated shopping days of the year.

Let’s make this Small Business Saturday the best one yet!

If you’re interested in joining the fun and supporting our local shopping community, reach out to us today to sign up as a participating business.

We’re excited to share some great news — Chamber Bucks are back

We know, we know… it might feel a little too early to start talking about the holidays — but trust us, they’ll be here before we know it!  And what better way to get ahead of the rush than by stocking up on the perfect local gift? Chamber Bucks make it easy to treat those hard-to-shop-for individuals, loved ones who already have everything, or your amazing employees who deserve a little extra appreciation.

Even better — Chamber Bucks are available year-round! That means you can support local businesses while giving a gift that gives back to our community, any time of year.

 How Chamber Bucks Work:

Chamber Bucks function just like a gift certificate. Customers present their Chamber Bucks when making a purchase, and participating businesses simply submit them to the Chamber office for reimbursement. We then issue a payment to your business for the full amount — it’s that easy!

 Why Chamber Bucks Matter:

When Chamber Bucks are spent locally, those dollars stay right here in Huntingdon County — helping small businesses thrive, supporting local jobs, and keeping our local economy strong. Every Chamber Buck redeemed represents an investment in our community’s success and sustainability.

If your business would like to accept Chamber Bucks, please let me know as soon as possible so we can add you to our official list of participating locations for our upcoming holiday promotions.

Let’s make it easy for our community to shop local, give local, and grow local this holiday season (even if we’re just a little early)!

We're honored to partner once again with the Huntingdon County Planning Commission to present the 2025 Community Improvement Awards!

Did you know........

Small businesses represent the largest segment by number of most local chamber membership rolls. Results in the research study by The Shapiro Group, Inc. and Market Street indicate the impact of local chamber membership on small businesses is very powerful. If a consumer knows a small business is a member of its local chamber, the business enjoys a 44 percent increase in its consumer favorability rating, a 51 percent increase in consumer awareness, a 57 percent increase in its local reputation and a 63 percent increase in the likelihood that consumers will patronize the business in the future.

Research indicates that chamber membership stimulates business-to-business commerce in the local community. Other businesses in town are more likely to do business with you and your company if you are a member of the local chamber. Because a major part of a small business typically comes from business-to-business services, it is essential to maintain a positive standing within the local business community.
