  • Unmounted Horse Project: Every Monday night 4:30-6:00PM. There will not be meetings on February 17 & March 9th
Hunt County Fair Entries

Hunt County Fair entry forms have been sent out to all Club Managers, along with a schedule. ALL entries must be turned in to the Extension Office by Club Managers by appointment ONLY on March 30 or 31!!
CLUBS WILL SET THEIR OWN DEADLINES FOR MEMBERS TO HAVE ENTRIES TO THEM! ALL MEMBERS MUST MEET THE DEADLINES SET BY THEIR CLUB
The schedule has changed for some shows this year so please read the fair schedule very carefully!!
Each exhibitor will receive one season pass. All additional passes can be purchased from the Hunt County Fair online or at the Fair Office. The Livestock Committee and Club Managers will not be handling additional passes.
4-H Membership for Hunt County Fair
Anyone that is wanting to exhibit an animal in the Hunt County Fair MUST be an active/enrolled/paid 4-H member! Participants must have attended three or more club/project meetings or county activities within nine months prior to the Junior Livestock Show ! Click here for the 4-H Connect link to enroll! HUNT COUNTY FAIR FRYER VALIDATION
April 1, 2020 – 4PM-6PM  Hunt County Fairgrounds

2020 Hunt County Roundup
We will be having Hunt County Roundup this year on March 30th & 31st starting at 3:30pm. Contestants will be scheduled a time to present once registered with the Hunt Co 4-H Office.
Contests offered include:
  • Educational Presentation
  • Public Speaking
  • Food Show
  • Fashion Show
  • Share the Fun

Categories for Food Show: Main Dish, Fruit & Vegetables, Bread & Cereals and Nutritious Snacks (This year's theme is Food Around the World)
  • Bring your completed entry information and dish on the day of the event.

Categories for Fashion Show:
  • Construction (Make outfit)
  • Everyday Living: Includes casual sportswear, weekend wear, sleepwear, school clothing, or hanging out with friends.
  • ReFashion: Modifying existing clothing or fabric (such as table cloth or curtains) into something more fashionable
  • Semi-formal to formal: Garments for semi-formal to formal events may include dresses, dressy pantsuits or for males a jacket or vest and pants.
  • Theater/Costume: Garments intended for costume or stage productions.
  • Buying (purchase outfit)
  • Business/Interview attire: Outfit you would wear for an interview, job fair, etc..
  • Fantastic Fashions under $25: Outfit must be purchased at a garage sale, thrift shop, Goodwill, etc.. SAVE RECEIPTS!
  • Semi-Formal to Formal: Special occasions such as weddings, proms, etc..
  • Special Interest: Outfits for equestrian, dance, rock climbing, sports, etc..

Educational Presentation Categories: Maximum of 12 minutes for presentation and 9 minutes setup and take-down, if needed. District Guidelines are not available as of this newsletter. Contest descriptions are found in State Roundup Guidelines.

Public Speaking: Individuals will present a 5 to 7 minute talk suitable as a platform speech or radio broadcast. The presentation should serve to persuade others regarding a particular issue or concern.

2020-2021 Texas 4-H Council Delegates At Large
The Texas 4-H Council is a team of 4-H members elected by their peers from across
the state of Texas. Serving as ambassadors for the Texas 4-H program, members represent the organization statewide while collaborating with Extension faculty to plan, coordinate, and facilitate activities and events. A new process electing Delegates at Large for the State Council started in 2019. There are now 2 ways to serve! 1. Run as a district officer at ULTRA camp in the summer of 2020; 2. Run as a delegate at large. Complete details for the Delegate at Large process are available upon request from the Extension office. Email [email protected] to request an information packet.
Texas 4-H Entomology Collection Contest
*NEW* this year, the contest is separate from Texas 4-H Roundup Registration. Registration will be through 4-H CONNECT on May 1 – May 22, 2020. Cost is $10.
