HCMS is on a roll celebrating the continued professional, academic, athletic, fine arts, and innovating ideas and projects that our Eagles and Eagle Family have accomplished. These celebrations are featured below. Enjoy reading about our great news.

You will also find out about our "Classroom Without Walls"- a shift in the educational mindset. The idea is to extend the classroom beyond the normal confines of four walls so that students delve into extended inquiry, real world application, and deeper exploration of curricular topics. Students are using technology to break down the barriers of the school building. They are using unique technology in our new Innovation Studio to explore the world around them. They are going on real field trips as well as virtual field trips across the world to develop cultural awareness and enrich their foreign languages' skills. We are extremely grateful to Dr. Barbara Jenkins, Dr. Maria Vazquez and Mr. John Wright and Ms. Mariel Milano for making the Innovation Studio at HCMS possible.

Please be on the lookout for an invitation for the parents to visit our Innovation Studio and explore the wonderful technology we now have access to. Expect greater things happening at Hunter's Creek Middle School!

HCMS parents! I greatly appreciate all the parents who took the time to fill in our annual parent survey. Unfortunately, we have not met the required 20% mark yet. We stand at 7.45%. I kindly ask again for your participation, keeping in mind that the survey results are kept anonymous. Please take the time to complete the survey by clicking the following link - Annual Parent Survey - and provide us with your feedback. Thank you for assisting us with our ongoing school improvement efforts.

Valentine's Day is on Friday, 2/14, of this week. I would like all stakeholders to be informed that HCMS Student Government Association (SGA) will be selling valentine carnations and delivering valentine grams. Students are not allowed to bring to school Valentine's Day items. Deliveries will not be accepted. Please help us keep a safe and orderly learning environment.

Thank you for your continued understanding and support.

Classroom Without Walls Concept & the Innovation Studio

To help with this mindset switch to a classroom without walls, HCMS students are researching ways to create a classroom without walls. That is to say, creating spaces where learning can cross traditional boundaries. Students researched ideas such as:
  • Flexible seating
  • Using Virtual Reality in the classroom
  • Communicating with schools and students around the world
  • Social Emotional Learning
  • Engaging in learning outside
  • Field trips
  • Utilizing a 4-day school week
  • Hands on learning

Students writing down their ideas on the topic of classrooms without walls.
