HCMS Community Member,

I hope that you are enjoying a safe and restful summer break. Although we are well into the summer break, summer school continues until July 27. In the meantime, we have been very busy getting ready for the new school year to start in August.

Report cards were issued on July 13. We anticipate receiving the state End-of-Course Exam scores from the Florida Department of Education around July 31. An updated report card will be issued once the district receives the scores. As a reminder, a state End-of-Course Exam will not impact a final course grade, unless it improves the grade.

Report cards can be viewed using Skyward Family Access, which is under Quick Links on the OCPS home page.

In order to give our Eagle parents a head start, included below is very important information for the 2021-2022 academic year.

Keep enjoying your summer and please remember to visit our website and the OCPS website this summer for the latest news updates.

With all my best!

Joumana Moukaddam
Proud Principal

  • 3rd incident - Cost of replacement ($395 - $635) or actual cost of repair

Please ask your child to take care of their device by protecting it from spills, keeping it on a hard surface or in a padded backpack when not in use and by not downloading any extensions (these can and often do contain malware).

Tech Tip
During the school year, make sure you utilize Canvas as a great information resource!
Canvas is also like your student’s binder: You can find messages from teachers, assignments, grades, important information, and more there!
During the school year, a Weekly Update is also sent as a Global Announcement to each student and observer dashboard each week. This weekly update has the most up-to-date information!
Monday's Motivational Moment!
As you discover your purpose in life and pursue your dreams, you will inevitably spend more and more of your time doing what you enjoy best. That's good. You can achieve your dreams only if you focus on your priorities.

But success requires something else: discipline. One of the best ways to improve discipline is to do something you don't enjoy doing - every day. If you learn to do what you must, you will be able to do what you want.

Do something you hate every day,
just for the practice.
Have a great week!
