Dear Mark,
We are now down to only nine instructional days remaining before our Thanksgiving break week. It is easy to get distracted during this time of year, with thoughts of relaxation and celebration filling our minds. However, I ask our wonderful HCMS parents to help their students' teachers by making sure your child maintains their focus and dedication to their work. This is especially true when it comes to any special projects and assignments they may have. We want all of our Eagles to earn the grades they deserve this quarter and these next few days before Thanksgiving will help them achieve their true potential.
Monday, November 11 was Veterans Day. I know some of our families have relatives who have worn the uniform serving in various branches of the US armed forces. Our military veterans, much like our teachers, demonstrate their willingness to put country before self. These are patriots who serve for the greater good and who don’t seek glory or recognition or personal gain. Therefore, if you see or know of someone who has served this week, kindly take a moment to thank them. A quick message of appreciation from one of our community members would mean a great deal.
As for this Eagles' View issue, we included highlights from a few special events and of course another example of rigor in the classroom which we wanted our families to see. As you scroll through the photos, one cannot miss the excitement and pride on the faces of our young Eagles, but also on a dedicated team of professional educators and staff. HCMS is a very special middle school made so, in no small part, by the active involvement and support of our families every school day. Thank you for being a vital part of your student's educational journey.

Eighth grade TWDL science students took part in an experiment to find out how the incline of a ramp affects the velocity of a car. Students were able to gather data about the behavior of a car on a ramp as the car accelerates down the ramp.
