Land Study along Hunterdon’s Commercial Corridors Approved by Freeholder Board to Assist Site Selection This study is designed to provide more information about parcels of land in Hunterdon County that lay along commercial corridors,” he said. “The primary focus will be along I-78, Routes 22, 31 and 202, but county roads will be looked at as well in addition to other areas, such as along the Norfolk Southern Railway. Latest Economic Development Grant Aims to Help Revitalize Ringoes Village; Payoff from Previous Grants Begins to Benefit Hunterdon According to Freeholder Matt Holt, the goal of county-funded projects like that of the restoration of Ringoes Village is “is to help make the towns more attractive for investment, while maintaining the character of the community."   “The grant for East Amwell is another major step taken this year in a series of moves by the freeholder board designed to help make Hunterdon competitive and investable, as the economy recovers..." County Launches New Economic Initiative Showcasing Hunterdon Main Streets Hunterdon County has launched a new initiative designed to highlight the appeal of visiting the county’s many vibrant main street business districts. At the center of the campaign is the new HunterdonMainStreets.com website, which shines a light on seven Hunterdon communities and all that they have to offer residents. The site is similar in theme to the recently launched Hunterdon 579 Trail website, which focused on local agricultural and agritourism assets. “The goal of these campaigns is to remind residents of just how much Hunterdon has to offer, to essentially rediscover all the good that’s in their own backyard,” commented Freeholder Director Shaun Van Doren. Hunterdon County New Businesses Launch Despite COVID-19 Shutdown “There are definitely businesses moving forward in this county,” said Hunterdon County Economic Development Director Marc Saluk. “Things have certainly not come to a standstill.” He said his office is fielding as many calls this year as last year from people “looking to invest in Hunterdon County.” To aid local retailers, the county will be launching a marketing campaign geared to promoting Main Streets, he said. “I don’t want to minimize the pain, but we’re looking to come out of this pandemic strong.” Click Here To Learn More

A Hunterdon County Company: DIG Labs "Caring for rescue dogs led 2 women to create supplements for them, and to launch a company" "Unlike humans, when pets are sick, they can’t tell someone what’s wrong. This simple truth represents the inspiration behind DIG Labs, a Lebanon-based business established in the summer of 2019 to promote and advance individualized pet healthcare and technology. NJEDA Approves $12M in Investments Through Angel Investor Tax Credit Program Two first-time participants in the New Jersey Angel Tax Credit Program were the first to benefit from the newly-expanded program. Elucida Oncology was the first company to qualify for the expanded 20 percent tax credit under the enhanced program and Bark Biome, doing business as DIG labs, was the first company to receive two investments that were eligible for the additional five percent bonus for investing in a woman-owned business. The remaining investments approved for the other 12 companies during the first half of 2020 were made at the end of 2019. Read More Here 

NJEDA to Provide Ecommerce Technical Assistance Services to Help Businesses Operate Safely During COVID-19 Pandemic The New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA) today launched a pilot E-Commerce Technical Assistance Program, which will help New Jersey restaurants, retail stores, and personal care businesses continue to operate safely during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Authority has engaged the services of Hudson Integrated, Positive Solutions, and Suasion Communications Group to help businesses that normally rely on foot traffic and in-person transactions identify and implement the website and ecommerce capabilities they need to stay in business while complying with current health guidelines and changing customer preferences.
