Freeholder Director Van Doren: Governor Must Distribute CARES Act Funds Now

“Hunterdon County’s Freeholders have made significant fiscally conservative decisions to hold up our end during the health and economic crisis. The tax rate was held steady for the second year in a row, a no-debt capital improvement plan was approved for the sixth year in a row, and the County continues to provide substantial funds for emergency and public health pandemic response. 

Now the Governor must hold up his end and distribute the federal funding designated to reimburse Counties, which has been available for over three months,”
Hunterdon Library To Provide Cooling And Power Center Saturday and Sunday
Hunterdon County’s Main and North Branch Libraries will have added hours on Saturday, August 8th, 9 am to 5 pm and on Sunday, August 9th, the Main library will be open 9 am to 5 pm, to provide a cooling, internet, and electronic power center for county residents without power, Freeholder Zach Rich has announced.

Rich, the Freeholder Board’s liaison for the Library Commission, stated, “TheFreeholder Board recognizes many residents are without power at a time of high temperatures and also, so many people rely on electronic devices. As a result, the Main and North Branch libraries have extended their hours to provide services to the public during the power outage.”
