Huntron Workstation instruction prompts during scanning are the steering wheel of a Workstation scan, and a foot pedal keeps the test moving. The existing instruction prompts are limited by the size and require the use of hands to scroll to view all the information.
To make running a test in Workstation more handsfree for users and allow better viewing of instructions while scanning, an Instructions tab has been added to the Image pane.
The pane can be undocked and resized to be used on a second monitor for easy viewing of instructions during a scan. The Instructions tab displays the tree item instructions and can be used to edit the instructions. The Update button writes the instructions to the database for the currently selected tree item. The instructions viewed in the tab are updated by changing the selected item in the tree pane, selecting one of the Level radio buttons, and/or running a scan in Workstation.
The Load File button allows the loading of an RTF file into the Instructions area.
Huntron has added control of RTF Instructions with checkboxes on the Tools > Options > General tab.
Enabling the new “New Instructions” checkbox changes all the RTF instruction fields to RTF editors. Right clicking on the RTF editors displays the formatting options available.
Enabling the new “Tree Instructions” checkbox updates the instructions viewed on the Image Pane Instructions tab when changing the selected item in the tree pane.
Enabling the new “Scan Instructions” checkbox updates the instructions viewed on the Image Pane Instructions tab when running a scan.
The Tester Pane now has the option to "Show the Image Pane" to let the user see the Instructions Tab while running a scan in Tester mode. Enable the Tools > Options > Test "Show Image Pane" checkbox.
Before enabling "New Instructions", it is highly recommended that you save a copy of any board database files that you wish to try out in the "New Instructions" mode. The old instructions mode is not compatible with instructions made using the "New Instructions" mode.
It is also important to be mindful of the file size of images or RTF files added to Instructions. Having a cumulation of large files in the Instructions, especially at the pin level, can bog down the computer's resources.
