Huron Valley State Bank Hands Out Ice Cream In Independence Day Parade

On July 4, 2019, children and adults lined the streets to view the Milford Independence Day Parade. For the 15th consecutive year, Huron Valley State Bank (HVSB) handed out a crowd favorite, ice cream bars, on this hot summer day. Approximately 50 volunteers consisting of employees and their families alongside a traditional ice cream truck, were able to pass out over 3,000 ice cream bars to an enthusiastic crowd! "This is one of our favorite ways to give back to the surrounding community and judging from the smiles on the children's faces it is something they really appreciate.  This year's parade was one of the best we have had, and we look forward to continuing our Independence Day tradition for years to come," said Jack Shubitowski, President and CEO of Huron Valley State Bank.

Venmo User's Transaction Information Up For Grabs
Word has it that some of us like to share our financial transactions with our friends...or in some cases the entire world. A researcher in Berlin found that nearly 210 million Venmo transactions were available for download to anyone who could find them. The researcher claimed to download 57,600 transactions per day, even after Venmo (owned by PayPal) made changes that was supposed to, at a minimum, slow the download speed of the transactions. Well, that makes it all OK, doesn't it?  More Info
Fun Money Facts
Of all the currency in the world, roughly eight percent of it is actual physical money. The other 92% of money only exists digitally, which makes a lot of sense considering how often people shop online or by using a credit card.

The U.S. government established the Secret Service as a means to end counterfeit money. Even though their job requirements were later expanded to include protecting the president, they were initially introduced to prevent the spread of fake money during the Civil War.
