HVSB Supports the Annual
Independence Day Parade

To celebrate Independence Day, Huron Valley State Bank (HVSB), once again had their ice cream truck and an eager team distributing ice cream bars along the parade route.  Employees and their families, directors, and even a couple of customers join the parade.  With approximately 50 people representing the bank, over 3,000 ice cream treats were handed out to an enthusiastic crowd. 

 

The parade is hosted by the Milford Historical Society. This year HVSB's Director, Joe Salvia, AMVETS Post 2006 Cmdr serves as Grand Marshal.  "The bank is proud to see Joe serving in this capacity. He served and sacrificed for our country, and organized several of Milford's Memorial Day Parades," said Jack Shubitowski, President and CEO of the bank.   

 

"It was already a great day just being at the parade, but seeing the smiles on the childrens faces when they were handed an ice cream bar made it all the better," said Lori Verbrugge, SVP of Retail Operations.

Both Suzie and Cassie hold crucial positions as Customer Service Representatives.  This means they are part of the team that serves on the front line helping our great customers every single day.  "My job is to greet everyone who walks through the door by name and make them feel welcome while specifically meeting their banking needs," said Suzie who joined the bank in July of 2012.  "I assist customers in any way that I can.  Handling their financial needs is a job that I take seriously," said Cassie who has been an employee since December of 2013. 
  
Suzie works part time, which means she can work out of both the Milford and Highland branches, however, she is most likely found in Highland.  "I like working for an institution that believes in and gives back to the community.  I enjoy working with and getting to know all of our customers and seeing them both in the branches and out in the community," said Suzie.  She loves all things Disney, especially Disney World.  In fact she has been there over ten times in the past three years, and plans to go a few more times within the next year.  When she is not working or visiting Disney, she can be found at the gym or at home working on all sorts of arts and crafts projects.  She enjoys reading and learning new things. It's common for her to take random classes to learn a new skill. 
  
Cassie also works part time, and like Suzie will work out of both locations, but is most often found at Milford.  "What I love most about working at Huron Valley State Bank is the people.  The employees and customers are amazing," said Cassie.  Outside of work, she enjoys ice skating and rollerblading.  She is also an artist and enjoys painting and drawing.  One of her favorite places to travel is Northern Michigan and she hopes to brave para-sailing off the waters of Lake Charlevoix this summer.

Potential Credit Card Security Breach - P.F. Changs

 

There is a potential data security breach of credit card information at P.F. Chang's restaurants as well as the subsidiary restaurant company Pei Wei during the reported potential breach time frames (03/01/14 to 05/31/14). In an effort to minimize exposure to the breach, the credit card companies have flagged these accounts are potential "compromised cards" to protect its customers. As always, it is recommended to actively monitor all your payment account activity and immediately contact your bank or card issuer if you notice any suspicious activity. 

Attention XP Users
If you are using Windows XP to access Online Banking, you may start encountering difficulties.  You will still be able to login, but will have limited functionality and difficulties accessing your account information. It is recommended to upgrade your system to a supported Windows version, such as Windows 7 or higher.  However, you can access your accounts with our new mobile banking app for your iPhone� and Android™ smart phone or tablet.  To download the app, click here.

Microsoft announced plans to discontinue support for Windows XP this past April. This means they will no longer provide any technical assistance or security patches for XP users.
