Hurricane Dorian Update

As of the 11 a.m. National Hurricane Center update, a tropical storm warning has been extended south to Broward County. Overnight, Hurricane Dorian has strengthened to a Category 5 system with maximum sustained winds of 180 mph.

Although Miami Beach is not within the forecasted cone for Hurricane force winds, the possibility of experiencing Tropical Storm force winds and heavy rains still remains as Hurricane Dorian is extremely dangerous.

City staff will continue to monitor the storm and remain ready to respond if any changes are made to the forecast. Continuously visit our website here for all city-related updates and stay tuned for upcoming emails.
