In light of the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene, our team has been hard at work, collecting information on how we can best serve our neighbors and Ministry Partners in the Western North Carolina region.
How you can help immediately:
PRAY. Prayer is powerful and desperately needed right now.
FAMILY AND FRIENDS:
- Make sure you are taking care of your family members affected. Prioritize their needs and safety. That is also a part of the Mission of God.
URGENT DONATIONS:
-
Lake Forest Church is collecting bottled water, contractor trash bags, and baby formula to be taken to our Ministry Partners THIS WEEK. Place donated items neatly in the Box Truck in Lake Forest’s Parking Lot. (Please do not bring other items. These are the greatest needs and our partners are unable to distribute other items at this time.)
-
Donate financially to EPC Disaster Relief or Samaritans Purse.
-
If you have space to house an un-housed family (indefinitely), click here.
IN-PERSON ROLES:
-
Volunteer to deliver collected supplies. Right now, we need people who can drive a heavily loaded box-truck or pull a loaded 20’ enclosed trailer AND strong people to unload heavy supplies upon arrival. The schedule is evolving, so flexibility will be key. You can register for any of those needs here.
-
To serve in-person with Disaster Relief, you can register and serve with Samaritan’s Purse.
- Within the next week, we will be holding a Blood Drive at the church. We’ll communicate once that date is solidified.
Needs will change as things evolve and we'll communicate as we adapt our collections and organize coordinated trips to serve.
