Hurricane Ian Advisory - Stay Safe, #Margate!
The City of Margate is keeping track of Hurricane Ian, as it approaches Florida. Although Margate is not in Hurricane Ian's forecast cone, the National Weather Service predicts potential wind gusts, heavy rain, potential flooding, and tornadoes for portions of Broward County.

On the forecast track, the center of Ian is expected to move over the southeastern Gulf of Mexico in a couple of hours, pass west of the Florida Keys later today, and approach the west coast of Florida within the hurricane warning area on Wednesday and Wednesday night.

Please be safe, Margate! For further updates, please stay connected with the City of Margate's social media @CityofMargateFL.
Bulk Pickup Suspended on Wednesday & Thursday
Due to the expected inclement weather, all bulk pickup services will be suspended citywide this Wednesday, September 28, and Thursday, September 29. We ask Margate residents to not place any items out for collection. Bulk pickup will resume on Friday with the normal Friday scheduled route.

Please note that Republic Services will also suspend all other garbage and recycling collection services if sustained winds reach 39 mph as the roads will be unsafe for their trucks to travel. Please stay tuned here for further announcements regarding City services.
