These personal connections are the reason why events – both, celebratory or tragic – in other parts of the nation are felt on a deep emotional level. As the images of Hurricane Ian play out, we are all thinking of those family members, friends and work colleagues whose lives have been impacted. Let us continue to keep the fine people of Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and elsewhere in our thoughts as they begin a road towards recovery.

Recent surveys show that more than one-third of asset managers see outsourced or supplementary trading relationships as a means to achieve operational efficiencies and a strategy to address the ever-changing regulatory and competitive landscapes.

Erin Gibbs is the Chief Investment Officer for Main Street Asset Management, LLC. The firm provides investment management to high-net-worth clients. Ms. Gibbs is a regular contributor on TV and other media.

Ms. Gibbs was the Equity Chief Investment Officer of Standard & Poor’s Investment Advisory Services (SPIAS) for S&P Investment Advisory Services, where she was the portfolio manager on over $16 billion of long-only equity products and oversaw all equity active portfolio strategies. Ms. Gibbs was a voting member on the asset allocation committee that advised on multi-asset strategies. Ms. Gibbs has over 25 years of experience in quantitative equity research and investment management. Her prior roles include positions at Liberty Ridge Capital, Citigroup and Sanford Bernstein.
