It’s been a hot minute since we last opened our doors to neighbors in need. In fact, it was early October 2016 when the park was filled to the brim with coastal evacuees fleeing Hurricane Matthew. We will once again provide refuge to our four-legged friends residing in the coastal regions of North Florida, Georgia, and the South Carolina low country, should hurricane conditions develop. We appreciate the concern that can come along with unpredictable weather and we are here for you! Please review our Hurricane Evacuee Guidelines.

AHPF HURRICANE EVACUEE POLICY

9.23.2022

Bruce’s Field is an event based facility and as such does not offer boarding, however in the event of an approaching devastating hurricane, and if the property is not under a lease agreement with an another entity, or within two weeks of hosting a scheduled event we will open our doors to those displaced by a hurricane using the following guidelines:

We only accept evacuees from coastal zones where the governor has issued a mandatory evacuation

We accept evacuees on a first come first served basis

We give priority to South Carolina residents

All evacuees must have current health papers, or a written statement from their vet that they are UTD on vaccines if no vaccine paperwork is available.

There is a maximum of a 3 day stay, we will be happy to help you search for  longer term accommodations should your property sustain damages that preclude you from returning home.

Only one extra stall will be provided for barns with 5 or more horses

There is no charge per stall but there is a $10 stripping fee (unless evacuee strips and cleans stall before departure)

There is a limited amount of camper hookups, we will charge $25 a day, pump-out is extra

Shavings may be purchased on-site at $5 a bag, while supplies last

Anyone entering the facility must sign a waiver

Hand walking and lunging only

Please contact Tara Bostwick if you are in need of stalls for your four legged friends. [email protected]
