We hope this email finds you and your loved ones safe and secure. In the aftermath of Hurricane Ida, JEDCO immediately mobilized its crisis response efforts to aid in Jefferson Parish business recovery. Days later, the JEDCO team continues to assess, respond, and reach out to our Jefferson Parish businesses with support, information, and resources.
Last weekend, JEDCO worked with a number of partners to provide housing for subcontractors and linemen who traveled into the area to help our community recover. JEDCO also assisted in coordinating the delivery of construction supplies to Grand Isle in order to aid in the rebuilding efforts. This is just a small sampling of the ways that JEDCO works behind the scenes for the Jefferson Parish business community. This work will continue today and throughout the coming weeks.
JEDCO developed a variety of tools and resources to help businesses connect with our team and stay informed:
Business Assessment Survey: We're working hard for our businesses. We want to understand your needs. We have built a short survey for businesses to help our team assess and provide support. JEDCO has received a strong response to this survey already and we hope to see other businesses fill it out in order to fill us in on their recovery needs. Fill out that survey here.
Free Transitional Office Space with Power and Internet: JEDCO is offering free transitional office space to Jefferson Parish businesses at the JEDCO headquarters in Avondale for as long as the organization is able to do so. Offices include internet, phone service, and air conditioning. Space can be reserved in four-hour time slots (mornings and afternoons) from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Interested businesses must call in advance to reserve space. JEDCO is not accepting walk-ups at this time. Contact Scott Rojas, JEDCO Director of Facilities and Information Technology, at 504-875-3916 or email him at srojas@jedco.org to reserve space.
Business Continuity & Insurance Webinar: Earlier this week, JEDCO hosted a webinar on Business Continuity after Hurricane Ida, featuring Louisiana Department of Insurance Commissioner Jim Donelon and Adams and Reese Partner Michael Berson. They discussed navigating insurance claims, understanding federal resources, and best practices for businesses in the aftermath of the storm. Watch the webinar here.
Additionally, we built a Hurricane Ida Resources Page on our website, which is being updated on a regular basis. JEDCO is in close contact with our partners around the state and region to compile the most up-to-date information and resources to aid in Ida recovery.
The JEDCO team is here to ensure that our businesses stay informed and supported as we all work together toward recovery. As always, JEDCO is here for you today and every day.
