Hurricane Michael Update
Dear NCHCFA Member,
This morning, a state of emergency was declared for North Carolina ahead of Hurricane Michael by Gov. Roy Cooper. As the storm makes landfall and moves inland, we would like to support your efforts with the following information:
Emergency Management
Local Emergency Management Officials: All requests for additional resources, outside of your normal contracts, are supposed to go through your county emergency management office. A list of county emergency management agencies can be found here .
If your county has not activated its operations center (or you are not having your needs met at the county level) and you need assistance, please contact the state Emergency Operations Center (EOC)'s Health & Medical Desk at (919) 825-2427. Effective 1:00 pm 10/10/2018 it will be staffed 24/7 until NCEM demobilizes the State EOC.
Emergency Management Escalation: If there are any issues that need further escalation after contacting your local emergency management officials and the state Emergency Operations Center (EOC)'s Health & Medical Desk, please contact the Association office at (919) 782-3827. We will work to further escalate issues as we are able.
Resources: The NC Division of Emergency Management has an app for your mobile device. It is called ReadyNC. It has information on local weather, road conditions, reporting power outages, and other information. To download click here .
The NC Division of Emergency Management website is also available here . It contains information about evacuations, shelters, emergency declarations, curfews, flood risk, storm stats, water systems, power outages, and more.
NCHCFA Activities
Pre-Hurricane Current Bed Census Request: In preparation of the arrival of Hurricane Michael, we are gathering some basic census information in case one or more facilities need to relocate residents. Please click here to provide bed information.
We hope all of your residents, staff, and families remain safe throughout the storm. If NCHCFA can provide any assistance, please contact the Association office at (919) 782-3827.
