Keep a Child Warm
This Winter
According to a recent New York Times article, more than 104,000 students in New York City are homeless, and the number is rising. That's nearly one out of every 10 students.

When children worry about basic needs, such as food, shelter, and clothing, it can inhibit their motivation to focus on learning at school and reach their full potential. Imagine trying to read a book or solve math problems while worrying about whether or not you will have food to eat for dinner or warm clothing to walk home after school in winter weather.
How Can You Help?
In an effort to ensure no child is cold this winter, WeLoveU launched dozens of coat drives across the country this fall. Have you donated a coat yet? Our clothing drive is coming to a close soon, so participate today!
Here are a few easy ways to provide winter items for children in need:
  1. Order curated coats and gear from WeLoveU's Amazon Smile Charity List. Items ship directly to WeLoveU's verified address.
  2. Drop off items at a WeLoveU donation box near you. Dozens of volunteers are holding donation drives in their community — at their workplace, schools, libraries, gyms, and other community organizations.
  3. Donate to WeLoveU's Education initiative.

All these steps can be found on our website.
Coat Donation Events
Coats, hats, mittens, and scarves collected during WeLo's Winter Weather Clothing Drive will be donated this month to students at the following schools:
  1. Richard J. Daley Academy, Chicago, IL
  2. Patterson Elementary School, Washington, D.C.
  3. Michelle Obama Elementary School, Newark, NJ
  4. P.S. 111, NYC, NY
  5. Newburgh Enlarged School District, Newburgh, NY

Nearly all of the students at these schools are living below the federal poverty line. With your support, we can ensure students at these schools have basic necessities so they can focus on learning while at school.
Thank you for helping keep children warm this winter!
